We always have a variety of Apple trees like, Honeycrisp, Red Delicious, Fuji, Gala and Chestnut. Popular apple trees have great taste, crisp with good color and very little tartness.
They are great for eating fresh, making cider or using in salads or making pies. Some store longer than others, 3 to 6 months after harvest as long as they are kept refrigerated. If you plant 2-3 trees you will get a large crop of apples in just a few years. They need at least two trees to pollinated with another variety. The best pollinators bloom at the same time of the year. Apple trees prefer a mixture of fertile soil and sand so they can drain well.
