The #1 pear worldwide! Starts bearing at a young age and is very productive. Fruit features a smooth, firm texture and a juicy, spicy taste. Harvest in late August. Topped at 30” to facilitate aggressive growth. Contains thorns. The Bartlett Pear is the number one grown and consumed pear in the world. This fast growing and long-lived European pear tree produces a nice crop of large yellow-green fruit. The flesh of the fruit is white with a smooth texture and the taste is juicy. The Bartlett Pear is easy to grow and is a favorite of both first time gardeners and long time orchard growers. The Bartlett Pear tree prefers and will produce the best crops in deep, fertile and well drained soil. However, it will tolerate other soil types as long as they are well drained, but the crops will be somewhat reduced. The Bartlett Pear is self fruiting, but will yield a larger crop when planted within 50' of our Bartlett Pear. A list of other pollination partners which will increase the pear yield is also listed below on the "More Info" tab. As with all fruit trees, it is important to keep them watered during periods of drought.
